Aunt Arctic's Article #18
Hello, penguins!
Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. Last time, we discussed new Igloo Catalogs, our special guest for the recent Wayback event, and received an important message from Gary the Gadget Guy. This week, Gary is back with an extended interview discussing the Halloween Party and his plans regarding a certain mansion…

An Interview with Gary!
Aunt Arctic: Hello, Gary. It’s so nice to have you here.
Gary: Thank you, Aunt Arctic. I’m quite excited to discuss things with you.
Aunt Arctic: Now, this will be your third Halloween Party as host. What makes you enjoy this time of year so much?
Gary: Well, I’ve always been a fan of the horror genre. Specifically, mad scientists and the anomalies they create. While I primarily focus on improving the quality of life around the island, it can be fun to “let loose” with something such as the Monster Maker 3000. I even planted a little surprise for those who decide to use it this year.
Aunt Arctic: I believe I’ve been seeing that surprise around the island! I won’t spoil it here, but I do suggest to our readers to check it out. Are there any other spots our penguins should check out during the party?
Gary: Of course! Trick-or-treating at the Snow Forts is a must. I personally enjoy watching the Night of the Living Sled trilogy. You can find each film at the Coffee Shop, Lounge, and Lighthouse, respectively. There’s of course the spooky Haunted House, challenging Dark Chamber, and… the Haunted Mansion…
Aunt Arctic: It’s impossible to run out of things to do during the Halloween Party! Now, about the Haunted Mansion, what exactly can you tell us about it?
Gary: Well, the mansion was owned by my Great Uncle Gariwald VIII. He was a scientist as well, and often dabbled in ectoplasmic phenomena. To put it simply, he was highly fascinated by ghosts! I have reason to believe that we may be able to uncover ghosts upon exploring his mansion. I hope to discover the source of this strange activity.
Aunt Arctic: Wow, that’s fascinating! I wish you the best of luck, and of course, be safe! When do you expect to begin your mission?
Gary: I hope to have everything ready by tomorrow! I think everybody will be in for a real treat! Perhaps some tricks from the mansion as well, haha…
Aunt Arctic: Well Gary, it was wonderful talking to you. I hope you have a splendid Halloween.
Gary: The same goes for you and your readers, Aunt Arctic. Happy Halloween!
You heard it from Gary himself, the Haunted Mansion will be arriving sometime tomorrow! Get all of your ghost hunting gear ready! The entire Halloween Party is on our snowy island until Wednesday, November 6. I hope you are able to make the most of it!

Ask Aunt Arctic
Dear Aunt Arctic,
I wanted to help carve the giant pumpkin at the Iceberg, but I don’t have a Hard Hat! Is there any place I can get one?
- kuromi01
Dear kuromi01,
I’m glad to hear you’re engaging in the Halloween Party festivities! Carving the pumpkin is a fun one for sure, one of my favorites even!
I have some good news for you regarding Hard Hats. If you head to the Cave Mine, you’ll be able to find some Mining Helmets right next to the left entrance.
There are two ways to get there. The first starts at the Plaza, going through the manhole to the Underground Pool, making a right to the Mine, and then heading north to the Cave Mine. The second starts at the Forest, move the boulder to find the Hidden Lake, and then head to your left to get to the Cave Mine.
I hope you’re able to get around to carving that pumpkin soon!
Dear Aunt Arctic,
How do you stay motivated to write? Do you ever procrastinate?
- ditto18
Dear ditto18,
Although writing is my favorite thing to do, I can sometimes find myself burnt out. It happens to all creatives!
While this article is aimed to be released every Monday, there are occasional weeks where island life can be a bit quieter than others, and it makes it quite difficult to write!
Rather than force myself to write an article for the sake of releasing one, I occasionally hold off on doing so and wait for the next big scoop to arrive! It’s like I always say: quality over quantity!
If you’re a writer or creative yourself, I suggest you follow similar advice! It’s also very important to make sure you balance your work with hobbies as well. It keeps your mind sharp! For example, I also enjoy knitting!
I wish you all the best!

Poetry
Gather your offerings,
For hunger to sate.
For pumpkins and skeletons,
And dragons and snakes.
The season has come,
Where all sights are seen.
Monsters shall roam,
On all Hallows’ Eve!
