Summer Styles Coming Soon!
A new Penguin Style is making its way towards the Gift Shop, and penguins are already getting excited to see what new looks are in store for the month. I spoke to the Gift Shop Manager and here’s what he had to say:
“It seems like this time around this catalog is for penguins looking to get some gear for the warmer months of the year. Though, we’re on a snowy island, so how much warmer can it actually get? Anyways, if you’re looking for some beach gear, this is the catalog for you! There will also be some colorful secrets hidden as well!” - Gift Shop Manager
The new Penguin Style is set to release sometime this week, get ready to kick off the new season with a bold fashion statement!
The Migrator This Way Comes!
It would appear that The Migrator is making its way towards the island for the first time since the Holiday Party in December! Penguins are getting excited to see the beloved captain again and play games of Treasure Hunt in the Captain’s Quarters.
As for why he is visiting, the answer is still not clear. Perhaps he is just visiting to see everybody, it has been half a year since we saw him last! While Rockhopper loves the high seas, he can’t go too long without visiting our snowy island that is his home away from home.
Rockhopper will be docking at the Beach sometime soon, so keep an eye out for both The Migrator and of course… Rockhopper!
Go Big-loo or Go Home!
If you’re a fan of igloo decorating, then it would seem that you’re going to quite enjoy what’s on the horizon. According to Rory, everyone’s favorite island construction worker, he’s been working on ways to improve making igloos for everyone. He said the following:
“Igloo building is quite fun already, but I’ve always thought, what if we could go BIGGER. Over the course of several weeks, I’ve drafted up some plans to make creating igloos even more fun and convenient for everybody. I can’t wait for everyone to see the changes!” - Rory
You heard it here first! Igloos themselves are getting a makeover. Rory stated that if all goes well, these changes should be ready to go by the end of the month!
Extra Extra!
Ask Aunt Arctic
Dear Aunt Arctic,
Will there ever be other pets on the island, such as snowmen, snow foxes or even polar bears?
- Hawaiian Sun
Dear Hawaiian Sun,
That’s an interesting question! Puffles are of course our primary species of pet here on the island, but it makes you wonder if there’s anything else out there.
Occasionally, I see penguins have other pets such as parrots, turtles, and fish in their igloos, though they don’t require nearly as much care compared to puffles.
Perhaps one day your question will be answered, maybe we’ll even find more puffles! Time will tell!
Dear Aunt Arctic,
If you didn’t become a writer, what career path would you have chosen?
- ShyGuyKid
Dear ShyGuyKid,
Life can be quite unpredictable, you never know where it may take you! I’m very thankful that I am able to live the dream as a writer, but it’s always important to have backup plans ready in case things don’t work out the way that you had hoped.
For me, my backup plan was actually to work as a barista in the Coffee Shop. The Coffee Shop is my favorite place on the island. You get to chat with penguins, drink nice cups of coffee and tea, eat delicious treats, read good books and play Mancala. Sometimes, I feel like I could stay there forever!
However, I’m very happy with the path I’m currently on, and a huge thank you is owed to you and everybody else that reads my work. Without you, this wouldn’t be possible. Cheers!

Poetry
Penguins tap their feet on snow,
Dancing where the cold winds blow.
Music plays from every igloo,
Beats so catchy, you can dance too!

Hurry, hurry, I need coins fast!
If I don't get to the mine, I'll surely be last!
Grab your shovel or any hard hat...
and when I get home, I'll give my puffles a pat.
