Aunt Arctic's Article #48

Hello, penguins!

Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. Last time, I sat down with one of the hosts of this year’s Fair, Bambadee, for an exclusive interview. This week, we take a look at this month’s catalogs and two upcoming parties in this very busy month!

Top Stories

Bone-Chilling Catalogs!

October may have a lot going on, but Halloween has certainly been in the primary spotlight. From the recently released Penguin Style to the upcoming Igloo Catalogs, it’s been all Halloween!

For the Penguin Style, a bunch of classic costumes were showcased, such as the Fairy Princess and Ghost Costume. In addition to this, returning favorites, such as the Extra Cheesy Costume and Ladybug Costume made returns as well! And of course, the Outfit of the Month is one to not miss out on!

For Igloos, there are also returning favorites and plenty of furniture pieces to get your igloo ready for all of the island’s trick-or-treaters! You could even go all out by making a haunted house! There are plenty of ways to celebrate the spooky season from the comfort of your own home. These new catalogs will be arriving with the 20th Anniversary Party!

An Amazing Anniversary!

On October 24, Club Penguin will be turning 20! Can you believe it? Two entire decades of waddling around and meeting new friends. With it being such an important milestone, a party is quickly on the horizon!

Similar to Wayback, a previous set of celebrations on the island celebrating Club Penguin’s anniversaries, the island is going to be decked out with decorations from all sorts of fan-favorite parties. In addition to this, there will be cake, Party Hats, cool items and all sorts of fun activities!

I’ll even be joining as one of the three hosts for this party! The other two you may ask? Well, I won’t give away too much at the moment. However, I’ll say that one of them is a party master and the other is a master in general! It’ll all begin very soon, we can’t wait to see you!

This is Halloween!

Immediately after Club Penguin’s 20th Anniversary Party will be our fourth annual Halloween Party! This is one of the biggest parties of the year, just about every single room on the island has some sort of decorations for it!

Returning this year are all sorts of favorites, including the Dark Chamber, Haunted House, Haunted Mansion and Trick-or-Treating! The latter of which will have all sorts of new items.

Who’s hosting you may ask? I briefly spoke to Gary, though he seems incredibly busy in his lab (as per usual). Normally, he’s able to make time for the Halloween Party, but we shall see! I also asked Rookie, but it seems that he forgot Halloween was so close and does not have time to prepare. Otherwise, I'm not so sure about any other options if Gary or Rookie are unable to attend. I suppose we will just wait and see…

Extra Extra!

Ask Aunt Arctic

Dear Aunt Arctic,

Do penguins get along with other ocean life well?

- wrench0

Dear wrench0,

It’s easy to forget that even though this may be Club Penguin, there are plenty of other animals in the area outside of us and puffles.

The best places to spot ocean life are within mini-games, such as Aqua Grabber, Catchin’ Waves and Ice Fishing. You can spot Fluffies, Mullets, Jellyfish, Crabs, Pufferfish, Sharks, and I’m sure there’s plenty more. Overall, we’re able to get along with them, so long as we don’t disturb their lives underwater too much!

Though I will say, I would highly stay away from sharks at all costs! They have no interest in making friends with penguins. If you’re surfing Survival Mode, be on the lookout and be careful!

Dear Aunt Arctic,

Have you ever gotten spooked by Halloween Party decorations?

- TheNitronic

Dear TheNitronic,

The Halloween Party can surely raise your anxiety! While most of the decorations are fun, some rooms can genuinely be unsettling!

I will say, one part of the party that really got me scared was the Haunted Mansion. Its ghostly presence was incredibly frightening! I wasn’t even sure if I was going to be able to uncover the mysteries of the building.

Thankfully, in the end it was merely just the work of Gariwald VIII, Gary the Gadget Guy’s great uncle. I was even able to build up the courage to transform into a ghost. Though, not for too long, it felt so weird!

Jokes

Q: How much does a pirate pay for an earring?

A: A buccaneer!

- Finola

Q: Why was 6 afraid of 7?

A: Because 7 ate 9!

- smallmicro

Riddles

Q: I am a room with no windows or doors. What am I?

A: A mushroom!

- Pointyfruit

Q: I’m not alive, but I grow. I don’t have lungs, but I need air. I don’t have a mouth, but I can drown. What am I?

A: Fire!

Poetry

Pumpkins lined the frozen shore,

Where no one had placed them… not before.

Each one carved with crooked art,

A glowing grin, a thumping heart.

They lit the night, then winked away,

While dawn crept in to chase the gray.

And some still swear they’ve seen them spin,

On Halloween in Club Penguin.

- SirRenguin

I see ice all around,

It sits calmly, waiting.

Waiting for the footfalls of the true,

And the brave to come through.

We may be small, but even though,

We are mighty, like the ice below.
