Aunt Arctic's Article #53

Hello, penguins!

Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. Last time, we talked about the December Penguin Style, the return of the Ice Rink and got our first glance at our upcoming Holiday Party! This week, we’ll take a look at the recently released December Igloo Catalogs, the annual Gift Calendar in the Forest and more details regarding the Holiday Party!

Top Stories

Holiday Decor Galore!

This past weekend, brand new Igloo Catalogs and Music were released to help penguins get ready for the festive season! Many igloo enthusiasts consider this one of the best times of year to renovate their homes.

The Furniture Catalog features a handful of brand new items, returning favorites and even some items that have not been available to purchase in quite some time! I quite like the Snow Penguin myself, one of them looks familiar…

Meanwhile, the Better Igloos catalog has a trio of new igloos, including a Gingerbread House, the Sweet Swirl Igloo and another hidden surprise as well! The Music Box also has five Holiday classics that will really help set the mood for the season! Be sure to get your igloo Holiday ready before the party begins!

12 Days of Giving!

The annual Gift Calendar has returned to the Forest! From December 14 to 25, a new gift will unveil itself each day! These can be pieces of clothing, furniture and perhaps maybe even more as well!

As of right now, the first two gifts on the Calendar have been unveiled. I don’t wish to spoil too much, but I will say that one is a furniture item and the other is a background! I wonder what else the Calendar may have in store?

While the gifts may be concluding on December 25, the Gift Calendar will remain available until the conclusion of the Holiday Party in early January. This way you’ll have plenty of time to collect each and every item it has to offer! Have fun collecting everything!

A Holiday Party Peek!

The Holiday Party is officially just around the corner! If all goes to plan, it should be arriving to the island sometime this weekend! What’s even better is that the party is going to last for a good chunk of time too, all the way into the new year!

Folks have been buzzing over the holiday happenings. There’s been word of many items being available, brand new and returning! These include plenty of toys over at Santa’s Sleigh and some delicious new treats over at the Bakery. In addition to this, the Train Line will also be returning this year with some stylish new prizes!

Our annual charity, Change for Coins, will also be returning for a fourth year. Over the past few years, we’ve worked with various charities to help causes relating to the environment, medical help and providing safe homes for LGBTQI+ individuals. This year, it would seem that this year’s charity is focusing back towards the environment! More information will be provided soon. This year’s Holiday Party is sure to be another one to remember!

Extra Extra!

Ask Aunt Arctic

Dear Aunt Arctic,

How do we throw snowballs indoors? Are they eggs?

- MayorMullet

Dear MayorMullet,

This is quite an interesting question! First off, I would sure hope they’re not eggs, that would create quite the mess! I can assure you that all snowballs thrown on the island, indoors or outdoors, are entirely made of snow.

Now, back to your question, if you’re in an igloo, I would think that perhaps you grab snowballs from your yard. If you’re in dire need of a snowball, you could even use the walls of your igloo, depending on which one you reside in. Just don’t use too much, or it could collapse!

As for the buildings on the island… I genuinely have no idea. Puffles are known to be able to equip their toys and food out of thin air. Maybe we’re able to do so with snowballs? I always enjoy answering questions like these, they give me a chuckle.

Dear Aunt Arctic,

Which mascot are you best friends with?

- McGrady

Dear McGrady,

Similar to when I’m asked to choose a favorite among my four puffles, I cannot choose a favorite friend of mine! I will say, each one of my friends provides something different and exciting, and I’m very grateful to know some great penguins.

Rockhopper is always up for a thrilling adventure, Gary is incredibly intelligent, Cadence knows how to bring a party anywhere, Sensei is very wise, I could go on and on! Everyday is always exciting when I’m with them.

Speaking of mascots, Rockhopper will be visiting during the Holiday Party! It will be quite nice to catch up with him and hear about his recent travels. I’m sure he can’t wait to return to the island and see everybody once again.

Poetry

Fishing at dawn,

Mancala at noon.

Racing sleds after,

Then to the Lighthouse to catch a view.

But the thing that makes it perfect,

and this is really true.

Is I spent my whole day smiling

Because I was with you!

The ice is vast, the Antarctic grand,

Where penguins march on frozen land.

A wintry world, beyond all rules,

Where Club Penguin swims in silent pools.
