Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. Last time, I sat down with Captain Rockhopper to discuss the Holiday Party! This week, we’ll be recapping what took place during the month of January!

Winter Wardrobes Hit the Gift Shop!

‍

The Gift Shop kicked off the year with a brand new Penguin Style catalog! It has the perfect outfits to stay warm during the winter season. Though, every season on our island seems like winter. I spoke to the Gift Shop Manager and here’s what they had to say:

“This catalog has everything you need to stay warm, which is very much needed! It’s got everything a penguin could want, from brand new styles to long awaited returns! I quite like this month’s Outfit of the Month, it’s so cozy!” - Gift Shop Manager

These outfits will be available until April. However, the Outfit of the Month that the Gift Shop Manager mentioned will only be around until the release of the next Penguin Style, which is quickly on the horizon! Be sure to stock up on your coins to get everything!

There’s Snow Place Like Home!

‍

Another monthly essential is brand new igloo catalogs and music! Similar to the Penguin Style, these catalogs primarily focused on the winter season. You can either embrace the cold or try your best to stay warm!

For the igloos, penguins can have a snow day in their Snowy Backyard Igloo or go a little modern with the In Half Igloo! There’s also a secret third igloo hidden somewhere, and it’s quite luxurious! For the furniture, there’s a great selection of both indoor and outdoor items. The music is also perfect for setting the winter mood!

The igloos and furniture will be available until April, but the music is only available until later this month! Hopefully you’ll be able to make the most of the winter with these selections, I surely know I am!

The Stage Goes Out of this World!

‍

The Stage has unveiled a brand new play this past week! It’s time to suit up as an astronaut, robot or alien and head off into space! What exactly is the play? Well, it’s Space Adventure! It’s an adventure in space!

‍

The play follows two astronauts named Captain Snow and Ensign, along with their robot companion Tin Can 3000, as they venture off into the cosmos. However, when they crash land on Planet X, they come across an alien named Zip and attempt to befriend it.

‍

On top of this, costume designer Dot the Disguise Gal will be visiting this week to celebrate the premiere! She’ll be giving away her Behind the Scenes Giveaway from her visits during the premiere week of Secrets of the Bamboo Forest last May! While she’s only visiting for the week, Space Adventure will be running at the Stage for the next few months!

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions you plan to do this year?

Dear Harmonystar,

‍

New Year’s resolutions are always so fun! It’s a great way to try and stay productive as you begin another chapter in your life. Though, it can be quite the challenge to try and stay on top of it!

‍

As for me, I think I have a few resolutions I aim to achieve. First, I’d like to try and be even more consistent with writing these articles! Second, it would be to read even more books than I did last year, I read 24! Lastly, I’d like to spend more quality time with my puffles.

‍

If you ever find yourself struggling to stay on top of your resolutions, there’s no harm in making little modifications to make it more achievable! Depending on the resolution, it could also be helpful to turn to friends to help you out! I wish you the best of luck with your resolutions if you have any.

This is quite an interesting question! Let’s just say that it all boils down to one place… the Boiler Room! The Boiler serves as the power and heat source for the entire island, without it, there wouldn’t be nearly as much to do on our snowy island.

‍

There would be no dance parties in the Dance Club, no coffee from the Coffee Shop, no pizza from the Pizza Parlor, no concerts in the Lighthouse, no lights anywhere, no music anywhere, the list could go on and on!

‍

Fun fact, did you know that the Boiler has even been transformed into a boiling pot of water for the April Fools’ Parties? It still works as our power source then too! There have been many great inventions showcased on our island, but the Boiler truly comes out on top.
