Aunt Arctic's Article #9

Hello, penguins!

Welcome to another edition of Aunt Arctic’s Article. First off, I apologize for not posting an article for the past two weeks, things were a bit hectic on my end, especially with the rockslides occurring! However, I’m back to deliver you the island news!

Last time, we interviewed Rory about the Cave Expedition, which occurred this past week. This week, I’ll share what came out of that expedition and what can we expect going forward!

An Exciting Expedition!

After a bunch of preparation the Cave Expedition occurred this past week! However, things didn’t go as planned. What went from a fun little adventure in the undergrounds quickly turned into a rescue mission! I was able to briefly catch up with Rory as he was helping penguins navigate the mines:

“It’s been crazy to say the least. I honestly wasn’t sure if we’d ever reach our target, but we never gave up and succeeded! Everyone also enjoyed passing the time by digging for treasure. From small rocks to a cool Rock Hard Hat, there were some nice finds in the dirt!” - Rory

The Cave Expedition concluded yesterday, but Rory also said he wanted to give a big thank you to everybody who helped him out during the event. He hopes to see you all again very soon.

Puffles?!

The Cave Expedition all led up to the discovery of… puffles?! These poor puffles were trapped in the caves this entire week, but thankfully they survived! It turns out, Puffle Handler herself heard about the expedition, and followed Rory to their discovery. I decided to speak to her as well!

“Yeah, these fellas got a little too playful and ran off while I was training them. They went into the caves and got stuck there when the rockslide happened. Thanks to all of you though, they’re safe and sound. I’ll have to check in on them for a bit just to make sure they’re okay, but once that’s done, along with the new Pet Shop, puffles are going to be roaming around the island with us! A Puffle Party is also up next on the island’s list of parties! I hope you’re as excited as I am!” - Puffle Handler

If all goes accordingly, PH says that puffles and the Puffle Party should be ready sometime in late August. She told me she’ll keep us posted about any updates, but puffles are the island’s number one priority!

Meet the Blue Puffle!

As we prepare ourselves for puffles, PH and I thought it would be a lovely idea for penguins to get to know more about these creatures before they’re put up for adoption. Each week, I’ll go over at least one different species of puffle. This week, the spotlight is on the blue puffle!

Blue puffles are known to be both loyal and content, making them quite the good pal to have! When it comes to play time, they sure love playing with a ball, specifically a beach ball! Lastly, they are known to be quite a team player, making them a puffle that can get along with just about any penguin on the island!

The blue puffle, along with the nine other species will be available for adoption once the Puffle Party launches. Check back next week for another look at another puffle(s)!

Ask Aunt Arctic

Dear Aunt Arctic,

What do you do in your free time?

- alphalauren

Dear alphalauren,

When I’m not writing, I often find myself cozied up on my arm chair reading a lovely book. I enjoy just about any genre of reading: fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, mystery, and many more! If you give me a book, you can surely find me reading it from cover to cover in one go!

I also really enjoy heading on over to the Coffee Shop to grab a nice cup of coffee. The staff there is always so kind, and they put all their love into their products. It’s also very nice to see some of your faces when I’m out and about on the island.

Dear Aunt Arctic,

What is your favorite pizza topping?

- Orangelyd

Dear Orangelyd,

This may sound rather boring, but my favorite pizza topping is… nothing! If I ever order a pizza from the Pizza Parlor, I will always enjoy it best when it’s plain. There’s just something about the simple combination of dough, sauce, and cheese that is just absolute perfection to me!

If I did have to choose a topping though, I would probably go with seaweed! It’s quite yummy! Also, if you happen to dislike eating greens, putting them on top of a pizza is the best solution possible!

If you have a question about our snowy island, let me know! I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time… waddle on!
