The Earth Day Party Is Here!

Hi Penguins,

It’s time for one of the most important holidays of the year. That’s right, it’s none other than Earth Day! This will be our first Earth Day Party and we’re excited to celebrate such an important occasion with you all. With that being said, take a look at our handy-dandy guide to help you make the most of everything this party has to offer!

Island Quests

Island Quests are back of course, and you will be happy to know that there are not as many as there were during the April Fools’ Party.

Each time you complete an Island Quest you can also receive Coins depending on the rarity of the specific Quest. Here is a breakdown on the coin rewards for each Island Quest type:

  • Easy Quests: 50 Coins (Green)
  • Medium Quests: 100 Coins (Yellow)
  • Hard Quests: 150 Coins (Blue)
  • Extreme Quests: 350 Coins (Red)

We’ve got another cool prize for you to collect this time around, and it’ll be a first for Island Quests rewards. Make sure you round up some fellow penguins to help tackle these quests!

Stamps & Mascots

In addition to a lot of Island Quests, there are also some stamps to earn! The stamps that you can earn during this party are Explorer, Happy Room, Scavenger Hunt, and Party Maestro!

You’ll also be able to earn a stamp for meeting Rockhopper! He will also be giving out a new giveaway! To make sure you have the best opportunity to meet Rockhopper, here are a few scheduled meetup times!

Animal Costumes & Plants Galore!

The “main hub” of the Earth Day Party is located at the Snow Forts. Here, you will see numerous different animal habitats. In addition to this, there will be an animal costume catalog in this room. There are eight different animal costumes to collect, some returning, some brand new!

Along with this, Rockhopper’s ship has been decked out with all sorts of greenery! Since the last time we saw him, he was able to collect a handful of interesting plants during his travels for players to display in their igloo. Head on over to the Migrator to check it all out!

Recycle Hunt

There sure have been quite a few scavenger hunts recently! From box pieces to eggs and now… trash? It seems that some careless penguins left their garbage all around the island, and it’s up to you to help make the island cleaner! There are eight pieces total and when you complete the hunt you’ll earn a stamp and an all new custom item!

Mine Shack & Recycling Plant

We’re happy to announce that the Mine Shack and Recycling Plant have received some upgrades to make the rooms more interactive!

First at the Mine Shack, players will now be able to grow crops at the vegetable garden. There are a number of ways you can go about this. You can either throw snowballs into the watering machine or wear items such as the Water Suit 3000 or Firefighter Jacket, to water the plants! If your group of gardeners do both at the same time, the watering process will go by faster!

Once a plant fully grows, you'll notice it disappear and in it's place will be an indent in the dirt. From here, use an item such as the Green Hard Hat or Garden Shovel, to dig that indent so a new plant can take its place! Once the spot is cleared out, begin watering again! This digging process also will apply if a plant withers from lack of water.

Gardening here is all about multitasking! I even hear that if you fill up the shed entirely, there will be a nice little surprise for the most esteemed gardeners...

Then at the Recycling Plant, the Recyclobot 3000 is now fully operational! Players can throw trash into the machine to change it into everyday objects that will be put to great use. An all new activity stamp, titled Go Green, will also now be available to earn here. You can earn that stamp by throwing ten pieces of trash into the machine.

Earth Day Igloo Contest

If you haven’t heard the news, there will also be an Earth Day Igloo Contest in conjunction with this party. The Top 3 entries will receive the Igloo Contest Award Pin and Igloo Contest Banner for their igloo, while another ten honorable mentions will be showcased right here on the blog with the winners! To get all the information you need, check out the post regarding it right here on the What’s New? Blog!

Wrapping Up

That just about covers everything. This is a bit of a smaller scale party, so it will be coming to a close on Thursday, April 25. We hope you make the most of it! Earth Day may only come once a year, but let’s always remember to be eco-friendly every single day.

As for what’s next on our island, well, let’s just say that May is going to be big. We got not one, but two celebrations ahead of us, some real cool updates, and perhaps even a new face… All will be revealed in due time.

Until then... Waddle on!
